Chuck Negron, Three Dog Night Co-Founder and Voice of ‘Joy to the World,’ Dies at 83

The original singer and lead member of the well-known rock group Three Dog Night, Chuck Negron, passed away in an age of 83 on Monday. His death was corroborated by his publicist who indicated that Negron died at his house in Studio City, Los Angeles, because of the complications associated with heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Chuck Negron and the Sound of a Generation

Chuck Negron became a famous figure internationally with his distinctive voice of Joy to the world which was one of the most familiar songs in early 1970s. The song was a worldwide hit and one that has remained closely associated with the solid and soulful voices of Negron.

Besides Joy to the World, Negron sang lead in some of the most successful Three Dog Night records including the number one (is the loneliest number), easy to be hard, an old fashioned love song, and the show must go on.
